Push Up Test

Chapter 4 · Fitness Assessment · 4.17

Assesses local upper-body anaerobic endurance with standardized push-up repetitions.

Test Demonstration

Watch the movement, then follow the book’s full procedure and measurement instructions for a formal assessment.

Equipment

Scale, two rubber agility rings, tennis ball and stopwatch.

Test Procedure

Place two rings shoulder-width apart and a tennis ball beneath the chest line. With hands inside the rings, lower until the chest touches the ball and rise until arms fully extend. Count complete repetitions in 60 seconds.

Result and Scoring

Record the number of technically complete repetitions in 60 seconds. The short clip is not a timed trial.

Video Demonstration Note

The demonstration uses a tennis-ball target but does not show the two agility rings required by the book. Treat it as a modified movement demonstration, not a complete setup.
