Low-Level Abductor Box Jump Rebounds III: Single-Leg Landing — Modified Demonstration
A modified demonstration related to book exercise 7.201, Low-Level Abductor Box Jump Rebounds: Single-Leg Landing (III), in Advanced Concepts of Strength & Conditioning for Tennis.
Equipment And Difficulty
Low box (2–6 inches) on a non-slip surface and two agility rings. Book difficulty: 3.
Book Progression
In the book, begin with both feet close together on top of the box. Step or jump off, land with both feet in the rings while looking forward, and immediately rebound onto the box to land on one leg while looking down. Repeat and perform the drill landing on the opposite leg.
What The Video Shows
The athlete begins on the floor with one foot in each ring, jumps onto the box to land on one leg, returns to the rings with both feet and repeats on the same landing leg. The initial box stance and opposite-leg series are not shown. The athlete’s gaze during the ring landings appears downward rather than clearly forward. Use this clip to see the single-leg box landing and rebound rhythm; follow the book for the complete setup and gaze progression.
Key Coaching Points
- Keep ground contact short and land inside the rings with both feet.
- Control the one-leg landing on top of the box before the next rebound.
- Progress from Low-Level Abductor Box Jump Rebounds I after the two-leg landings are consistent.
