Chapter 4 · Fitness Assessment · 4.16
Assesses local lateral endurance with repeated lunges to both sides.
Watch the movement, then follow the book’s full procedure and measurement instructions for a formal assessment.
Two rubber agility rings, scale, tape measure, heart-rate monitor and stopwatch.
Place a ring at each lateral ground-contact point and measure the ring-to-ring distance. Perform repeated lateral lunges into the rings, bending one knee toward 90° while the other leg remains straight.
During a formal trial, record repetitions and time to exhaustion, heart rate at exhaustion, and recovery heart rates at one, two and three minutes.
This short clip demonstrates the left and right movement and ring arrangement. It does not show a full time-to-exhaustion trial or heart-rate readings.
