Watch the movement, then follow the book’s full procedure and measurement instructions for a formal assessment.
6 lb (2.72 kg) medicine ball, tape measure and stopwatch.
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent and shoulders perpendicular to the baseline. Hold the ball in both hands with arms straight. Rotate the trunk away from the net, then forcefully rotate back and throw toward the net for maximum distance.
Measure distance from the baseline to first ground contact and time from release to contact. The studio demonstration cannot supply those measurements.
The video shows the rotational throw but does not show a tennis baseline, net, landing point or timed measurement.
The book lists Forward Lunge & Ankle Reach and MB Diagonal Chops as pre-test preparation. Browse the exercise library for related demonstrations.
